Sonic’s Token S Gets Global Access Via Alchemy Pay

- Sonic Labs enables global access to token S via local currencies through Alchemy Pay.
- Users in over 170 countries can now buy S using everyday payment methods.
Sonic Labs has announced that its native token, S, can now be purchased directly using local currencies through Alchemy Pay.
This move allows users from over 170 countries to purchase S tokens using payment methods they encounter every day, such as debit cards, digital wallets, and even bank transfers. So, instead of having to bother opening a crypto exchange, now you can simply use your regular payment method like shopping online.
On the other hand, this partnership also reflects Sonic Labs’ strategy to expand its user base worldwide. It’s not just about availability, but also about user convenience.
$S is now available on @AlchemyPay.

Moreover, the Alchemy Pay platform is known to provide regulated services and has been operating in various regions, including Asia and Europe. This combination can certainly make Sonic more acceptable to users who previously thought crypto was complicated.
A Risky Opportunity Sonic Won’t Rush Into
But wait, this is not the only step that Sonic Labs is taking. According to a CNF report, the company is also developing an algorithmic stablecoin that can offer annual returns of up to 23%. If that number appeared on a regular investment brochure, many would be suspicious. And yes, Sonic Labs founder Andre Cronje has similar concerns.
He said that while the proof of concept shows interesting potential, the bitter experience of algorithmic stablecoin failures like TerraUSD in 2022 has made him take a much more cautious approach. After all, it’s better to be slow than to watch the system collapse overnight like Terra did.
Security Takes Center Stage With Arkham Partnership
Furthermore, Sonic Labs is also serious about security. In February 2025, they partnered with blockchain analytics company Arkham Intelligence.
Through this partnership, users on the Sonic network will gain access to entity and address tracking tools, visual dashboards, and real-time alerts. These features are very useful, especially for users who are diligent in transacting in DeFi and need higher visibility into their activities.
It’s like installing CCTV and an alarm in your virtual home. So, if there is suspicious movement, you will immediately know. Transparency and control are increasing, and that is very important in the fast-paced crypto world.
Advanced Data Flow Through Chainlink Solutions
And speaking of technology, Sonic Labs has also integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) into their main network. This announcement came in January and was welcomed positively by the community because it opened up opportunities for seamless communication between blockchains.
Sonic Labs also uses Chainlink Data Streams and Data Feeds and also participates in Chainlink’s SCALE program. Data flows are faster and more efficient, and developers now have more tools to create complex applications without worrying about data limitations.
In the middle of the developments, the S token also performed well. In the last 7 days, its price has shot up 14.37% to $0.6151.
