Pantera, ParaFi, and Other Crypto Funds Purchase MPLX Tokens from FTX Bankruptcy Assets
Several crypto funds, including Pantera Capital and ParaFi Capital, have recently acquired a large amount of Metaplex (MPLX) tokens from Wave Digital Assets, according to sources familiar with the matter.
These tokens were originally held by FTX’s bankruptcy assets, and the involved funds have confirmed the transaction. Citing bankruptcy filings, sources revealed that FTX initially held 72.6 million MPLX tokens. Blockchain data indicates that 62.6 million of these tokens were privately sold over the past five months.
Additionally, 2.5 million tokens were transferred from FTX wallets last month, leaving 7.5 million tokens remaining for sale. All remaining tokens are expected to be fully unlocked by September 19.
